Laudato Si’ Movement
Laudato Si’ Movement
The Laudato Si’ Movement (LSM) is a global, quietly growing circle of people inspired by the 2015 encyclical Laudato Si’.
What unites them is simple and universal:
a desire to live in harmony with the Earth, our shared home, and to honor the web of life to which we all belong.
The year 2015, when LSM was founded, was also the year of the Paris Climate Conference (COP21). As environmental awareness rose worldwide, LSM began connecting spiritual insight with ethical responsibility, helping people see that ecological crisis also touches the inner life—our way of seeing, choosing, and relating.
Nearly a decade later, LSM has blossomed into a worldwide network.
Each year, Laudato Si’ Week and the Season of Creation (Sept 1–Oct 4) bring together communities across the globe in prayer, reflection, learning, and quiet renewal. These moments express the Movement’s distinctive spirit: nourishing both outward action and inner transformation.
In many countries, trained volunteers called Laudato Si’ Animators support local ecological efforts—sustainable living, community dialogue, divestment from fossil fuels, and practices that restore our connection with the natural world. These small, steady steps are slowly shaping a more compassionate future.
Regardless of one’s religious background, the heart of LSM’s message is open to all:
to live with gratitude, humility, and care within the larger community of life, and to take mindful steps toward a more just and healthy planet.
The Laudato Si’ Movement is a meeting place of quiet goodwill—people around the world tending the Earth and its future with hope.
